Météo-France lifts storm alert, but maintains orange heatwave alert for 13 departments in the South-East

These are the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the Alpes-Maritimes, the Ardèche, the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Corse-du-Sud, the Haute-Corse, the Drôme, the Gard, the Hérault, the Isère, the Rhône, the Var and the Vaucluse.

The orange storm warning was lifted on Thursday, August 1, according to the latest bulletin from Météo-France. However, 13 departments in the South-East are still on orange heatwave warning. These are the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, Ardèche, Bouches-du-Rhône, Corse-du-Sud, Haute-Corse, Drôme, Gard, Hérault, Isère, Rhône, Var and Vaucluse.

In terms of temperatures, it will be up to 39°C in Nîmes, 38°C in Perpignan, 37°C in Marseille, 34°C in Ajaccio, 33°C in Lyon and Toulon, 32°C in Toulouse and Montauban, 31°C in Nice, 29°C in Strasbourg and Bordeaux, 30°C in Nantes, Paris and Bourges. To cope with this high heat, the city of Marseille has launched its heatwave plan. Among the measures taken by the municipality is the free use of municipal swimming pools for all, until the end of the heatwave.
