Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve | Man in serious condition after being shot

(Montreal) A 26-year-old man was shot and injured Saturday night in Montreal’s east end.

Calls were made to 911 shortly after 7:30 p.m. for a person who had been shot, at the intersection of Saint-Donat and de Brouage streets, in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. Once at the scene, the police found the victim injured in the upper body.

The young man was transported to the hospital and is in “serious condition”, reported the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

“At this time, it remains to be determined where the shots took place. There are no arrests at this time,” said SPVM spokesperson, officer Gabriella Youakim.

A security perimeter was erected to allow investigators to establish the causes and circumstances of the event.
