The triathlon, now scheduled for Wednesday, July 31 in Paris, could be postponed again. If the situation still does not improve, the swimming event would be removed from the Paris Olympics.

After the cancellation of the triathlon swimming training sessions on July 28 and 29, the men’s triathlon event at the Paris Games has been postponed for the time being until Wednesday, July 31. The reason? The water in the Seine is still too polluted. A real headache for the organization of the Games.

The heavy rains that fell this weekend in Paris have degraded the quality of the river water. The men’s triathlon, scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 at 8 a.m., has been postponed to Wednesday, July 31 after the women’s race. If the Seine has not returned to the health criteria in force by then, the triathlon will still take place on Friday, August 2, at the Pont Alexandre-III. No fallback location has been considered. In this case, the swim, which starts the triathlon, would be canceled. The race would then be transformed into a duathlon.
