The Foire du Trône is one of the oldest and most festive in Europe. She is celebrating her 60th birthday this year. Report with two artisan confectioners.

At a time when the rides are frozen, when the funfair has not yet started, in the “Caravan of Delights”, the confectioners enter the fray. In the pot, there is sugar, glucose and strawberry. A delicious mixture intended for making candy apples, with a secret: turn it a little, but not too much. And the magic happens: an apple lightly coated with sugar, very shiny, very red, and it’s no coincidence. It reminds us of the story of Snow White. Francine and Pierre have been concocting it with love for 40 years, 40 years since they illuminated sugar with 1,000 colors in all its forms, lollipops, marshmallows, sweets, cotton candy.

The children are happy

Their greatest reward is children. A real day of celebration for them, who find themselves in front of a mountain of sugar the likes of which are never allowed to be eaten. The couple has the feeling of a mission well accomplished by creating stars in their eyes.
