To highlight their tireless work, McDonald’s of Canada offers free McCafé® coffee or tea to health care personnel throughout the month of January.
With the pandemic still in full swing, McDonald’s restaurants across Canada would like to once again show their appreciation and gratitude to healthcare workers by offering them a free hot beverage.
A small gesture to say thank you
“At McDonald’s, our purpose is to nourish and support communities. This initiative aims to thank those who are currently dedicated to taking care of communities,” said Gemma Pryor, Senior Director, Team Impact Canada.
Thus, throughout the month of January, participating McDonald’s restaurants are offering free premium roast coffee or medium-sized McCafé® tea to health care workers, but also to volunteers working in the field of vaccination, to employees of centers of medical analyzes and pharmacies as well as to the personnel of the emergency services and the armed forces.
Are you part of this dedicated team that works at the front to care for sick people, ensure our safety, in addition to testing and vaccinating the population? Just show up at the counter or drive-thru of a participating McDonald’s restaurant and show business ID to get your free hot beverage.
An initiative that is in line with the company’s mission
In March 2020, McDonald’s Canada and its independent franchisees across the country donated more than one million free premium roast coffees and McCafé® teas to healthcare workers.
From one end of the country to the other, these franchisees want to make a difference by getting involved in their community. If a free coffee can put a smile on the face of health care workers and volunteers on a gray day, it was only natural for them to renew this offer.
That is why this initiative, which helped warm the hearts of many workers at the start of the pandemic, is back to highlight the continued efforts of health workers, still on the front line almost two years later.
“Since the start of the pandemic, our franchisees have been creative in supporting their communities through these difficult times, and we’re still seeing that today with this free coffee offer,” adds Gemma Pryor.
A thank you to all the volunteers
McDonald’s Canada takes this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who help facilitate the organization and running of vaccination centers across the country, as well as all the health care workers who tirelessly take up the challenge of caring for and testing patients since the start of the pandemic.
Dear healthcare workers, see you in participating McDonald’s Canada restaurants throughout January to get your free premium roast coffee or tea. Thank you for your dedicated work and hoping that this little token of appreciation will comfort you!
