How big will the May Day protests be? This is one of the challenges of the traditional Labor Day. 250 processions are present everywhere in France with demonstrators demanding salary increases and rejecting the pension reform.

May 1st is special with a strong mobilization this morning on the old port of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhone). Six weeks before the legislative elections, the city which placed Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the lead in the presidential election, wants to put the pressure on.If all the neighborhoods stand up, we can win”thinks a protester.Without social pressure and without a balance of power, history shows us that we have never won anything”continues another. Purchasing power, retirement, salary increase… The subjects mobilize. Reindeer (Ille-et-Vilaine)the demonstrators pass through symbolic places such as the Pôle emploi, the hospital and the school in order to denounce “the case of the public service“. They are demanding wage increases. In Lille (North)the coordinator of France Insoumise call to the vote for the legislative elections. Demonstrations will continue in several major cities in France all day.
