Last March, Martin Tremblay trained his lens on the war in Ukraine, shortly after the first Russian bombardments. Among these images, three were selected for the 34e edition of Visa pour l’image in Perpignan.

“Being screened at Visa this year means a lot to me. I see it as an accomplishment,” rejoices the photojournalist.

It was the first editions of Visa pour l’image that “triggered” his desire to get into the business, recalls Martin Tremblay in an interview.

His images, which bear witness to the reality of the conflict in Ukraine, were projected on the giant screens of Campo Santo in Perpignan on Friday evening, as part of the professional week of the international festival. The organization had reserved an evening there bringing together war photos taken in Ukraine.
