Marlène (Married at first sight): Her son Sandro “inanimate” at birth, she tells her big fright (EXCLUDED)

May 31, 2022 is a date that will forever be etched in the memory of Marlene. That day, the candidate of Married at first sight 2019 (M6) and her husband Sébastien Serrano have welcomed their first child together. A little boy who responds to the sweet first name of Sandro. During an interview for Purepeoplethe beautiful brunette has agreed to confide in her delivery during which she had a big fright.

How do you feel ?

Alright, we got home on Friday. It’s going pretty well, we’re all taking our marks. And since we have a baby who is quite easy, it’s pretty cool. We are benefitting ! It feels good to be back because even if we were pampered at the maternity ward, we want to get our bearings at home and show him where he’s going to live.

How was your birth?

I was induced for medical reasons at 6 a.m. and gave birth the next day at 10 a.m., that was quite a long time. My luck is that I only had contractions in the evening, in front of Married at first sight Besides. Like everything is connected. We were taken care of by a great team. Then I had the epidural and gave birth the next day because I couldn’t dilate fast enough. And when I gave birth, it went well. But Sandro had swallowed amniotic fluid, suddenly we got a big fright because when they put him on me, I saw that he was inanimate.

What did the doctors do?

The midwives took him to aspirate the fluid. So panic attack, I wondered what was happening to him. Seb stayed with me to reassure me. The gynecologist too, he told me that it happens regularly. They put a small mask on him so he could breathe some oxygen and he was transferred to a neonate so that they could watch him. Then it was better, he had good constants. He was hooked up to a device to see his heart rate or blood oxygenation. It was a little tough. When you have just given birth, you just want to have your child with you. I was lucky anyway, I was able to do two hours of skin to skin as he was fine. And in the evening, as he was better, they left him with us even though he was still hooked up to his little machine.

Is there any special surveillance today?

No, it stayed plugged in the next day. And then the pediatricians came to examine him. We were told that everything was fine and that he could “live normally”. We stayed three days at the maternity ward as a standard stay. He just had to have special supervision the first day.

What can we wish you?

There, I want to say that I don’t wish myself anything more, so happy I am. I see nothing more to wish us apart from health, for our son and for us. And that Sandro still sleeps so much (laughs).

You were revealed in Married at first sight. How do you view the current season.

This year, I have a little more trouble. It is not in relation to the candidates, because there are beautiful personalities and very beautiful couples. It’s a bit more compared to the way it was filmed and produced. I feel like it’s less natural.

Do you have any favourites?

I really like the couple Pauline and Damien. They are natural and I find them too cute. I loved their wedding with their families who were very involved. And it shows that they had a real crush.

You recently expressed your dissatisfaction with the production which ultimately canceled your presence and that of other candidates for a What have they become ?, when you had everything organized. Did the production contact you afterwards?

No way. The production does not contact us, except when they have something to ask us. They wanted to do a subject on the “MAPR family” to show that the show also allows you to meet friends. They wanted to film us during a weekend in Lyon and show some flashbacks. But a few weeks before, they canceled when they had already postponed the date twice and everyone had made themselves available to go to Lyon. I had sent archive videos too. And I had it a little in the throat because I don’t like the way of doing it. The production told us that she preferred to film the new ones, which I understand, but don’t make us wait like that to cancel everything in the end. It’s a shame, but that’s how it is.

Will you continue to do this kind of weekend?

Yes, we planned to go to Marrakech in October. We continue to live our life, even if it will be different with Sandro. That won’t stop us from going away for the weekend with friends or having moments with Sébastien. I think it’s very important for the couple, their life as a woman or family. We must not forget ourselves.
