“And the thank you?” On TikTok, Marion Cotillard is far from being unanimous…or rather, against her! Indeed, the actress, present at the 49th Cesar ceremony watched by 1.86 million viewers for 11.8% of the public, made a small blunder which has far from gone unnoticed. On the red carpet, after chatting briefly with a woman she seemed to know, Marion Cotillard accidentally dropped an earring. Neither one nor two, a security guard present hastened to pick it up for him. But Guillaume Canet’s wife totally ignored him, and took his earring without looking at him, and without thanking him.
An attitude considered pedantic and discourteous by viewers of the ceremony, who strongly criticized it on social networks, and more particularly on TikTok: “She didn’t even say thank you.”Does she ever look at him, smiling instead of saying thank you?“, “The thank you wasn’t in the script”, “You’re welcome”, “And thank you, it costs you nothing…“, “In this world of entertainment, they all lose the true meaning of life”, “Zero for Marion, thank you is not part of her vocabulary”, “Impolite”, “No class”, “No but Marion, goes back down”, “Thank you is optional” and so many other comments, each as acerbic as the next, have polluted the posted video…
She hasn’t won a César for sixteen years!
Apart from this little hiccup which she would probably have happily done without, Marion Cotillard made a strong impression when she arrived at the César. The Franco-Hollywood actress hit the mark, arriving with a long black officer-style coat, before finally removing it to reveal a magnificent all-white trimmed dress. A mini dress entirely embroidered with sequins and rhinestones dressed her up for the evening, and was completed with a black tulle train. The actress wore natural makeup, with a simple highlight of her blue eyes. Her mullet cut caused a lot of talk, and seemed to be popular. Nominated for the César for best actress in the film Little Girl BlueMarion Cotillard mainly came to the Césars to present an honorary César to Christopher Nolan
. However, she was not awarded an award, and remains two Césars, won in 2008 (The kid) and in 2005 (A long engagement Sunday).
