Manuel Bompard denounces “a desire” of the government “to criminalize opposition”

Manuel Bompard denounces, Monday April 22, on Franceinfo, a “drifting more and more authoritarian” of the government. “There is a desire on the part of those in power to criminalize opposition,” adds the coordinator of La France insoumise (LFI). He qualifies as “stunning” and of “scandalous” the summons by the police of Rima Hassan, LFI candidate in the European elections, present in seventh position on the list, for “apology of terrorism”. “That should alert everyone.”believes Manuel Bompard.

Rima Hassan is notably criticized for an interview with the online media Le Crayon in which she responds “TRUE” to the affirmation “Hamas is carrying out legitimate action.” “In the summons, dates are mentioned which do not correspond to the publication of this interview”, affirms the rebellious MP. He denounces “an interview that lasted 1h30”, of which “a one minute extract has been released”, “which ignores the other answers from Rima Hassan, in particular the answers where she said very clearly that the actions committed on October 7 [par le Hamas] were terrorist acts, that they had to be condemned and that she condemned them”.
