RIED/TAUFKIRCHEN AN DER PRAM – On Friday, October 25, the FC Bayern fan club S’Innviertel gathered board members, sponsors, and partners for a festive Oktoberfest at the Ried brewery inn. The highlight of the event was Olympic discus thrower Lukas Weißhaidinger, who has had notable achievements in his sport. The athlete, hailing from Taufkirchen, expressed his long-standing support for Bayern Munich, stating, “As someone from the Innviertel region, it was clear to me to support a top club that is close to home. My love for this club began when I played soccer in Taufkirchen; my coach Johannes Froschauer was a dedicated Bayern fan who influenced us significantly.”

Weißhaidinger, a bronze medalist in Tokyo 2021, reflected on his passion for the club, saying, “There are so many memorable moments, but Robert Lewandowski’s five goals in ten minutes against VfL Wolfsburg in 2015 stands out to me.”

Future Aspirations for Weißhaidinger

As he reviewed his recent competitions, he shared insights with fan club chairman Jürgen Peham. “The Olympic Games didn’t go as I had hoped; sometimes, it just doesn’t align perfectly after four years of dedication. However, I found my stride again at the European Championships in Rome,” he noted. Now at 32, Weißhaidinger remains optimistic about his future, aiming for another Olympic medal. “To the younger athletes, I say: Follow your passion; it’s the key to success!”

Celebrating a New Member

Following his interview, chairman Jürgen Peham proudly announced that Lukas Weißhaidinger would officially become the 400th member of the S’Innviertel fan club. “We are thrilled to have Lukas on board,” Peham stated, recalling that top athlete Daniel Dankmaier had previously become the 300th member.

Praise for Social Contributions

Peham highlighted the fan club’s collaboration with Lebenshilfe workshop in Ried im Innkreis, which recently enabled employees to attend a Bundesliga match, creating cherished memories. “We also conducted a raffle at their summer party in May and are looking forward to future outings,” he said. Ried’s mayor, Zwielehner, commended the fan club’s social efforts and the important work done by the Lebenshilfe team. “Their contributions are invaluable,” he remarked.
