After Vancouver, it is now Toronto’s turn to host a sales studio for the young American electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid. The firm, which is quite talked about these days because of the performance of its launch model, is thus preparing its official entry into the country for the spring.

The arrival of Lucid in Canada is an event in itself due to the fact that the brand will essentially be the first manufacturer to play on an equal footing against Tesla in all-electric. It has also been specified that a third studio will open in Montreal later this year, the company favoring this model over that of traditional concessionaires.
While waiting for an SUV planned for 2024, the Gravity, only one model is in the automaker’s portfolio for the moment, the Air. It’s a large sedan that throws the gloves off a pioneer of the genre, the Tesla Model S. Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson happened to be Tesla’s chief engineer. It is therefore anything but a coincidence.
The model is inevitably a luxury product, as evidenced by its price range, which starts at $107,300 and peaks at $191,300. In exchange, three liveries are offered, the Air Pure of 480 hp with 653 km of autonomy, the Air Touring of 620 hp with 653 km of autonomy and, finally, the Air Grand Touring of 800 hp with 830 km autonomy. Note that we can no longer reserve the explosive Dream Edition variants of 930 hp and 1111 hp.
The sedan features a 900 V ultra-high voltage architecture and provides a maximum charging power of 300 kW. Lucid has also announced a partnership with Electrify Canada, Volkswagen’s fast-charging network. Owners will be entitled to two years of free charging with the purchase of their Air.
