A truth interview. This Monday, January 8, 2024, Jordan de Luxe received director Luc Besson as part of his show At Jordan’s. An interview during which, as is tradition on the set of the C8 show, the 64-year-old laid his cards on the table.
Declaration of friendship to Cyril Hanouna, revelations about his childhood, confidences about his ex-partner Maïwenn or even a message to former president Nicolas Sarkozy… Suffice to say that Luc Besson did not water down his words and that he entrusted like never before. Proof, When asked about his long-time friendship with Jean Reno, the latter indicated that he was very close to the actor.
“When I met him (Jean Reno), I was 17, he was 21. Jean, at that time, even if he was at the beginning, what he proposed did not exist. It was a kind of carcass with an eagle’s head and a big voice, there is none in cinema. However, the cinema that I want to make is cinema of anticipation, of science fiction, and it is a character that inspires me. So, we found each other and helped each other. I may have brought him a lot of things, but so did he. It was new to show actors like that, it didn’t exist“, he first recalled.
And to add: “We’ve known each other for 50 years. We don’t call each other every day, but we’ve had all our stories, our children, our marriages, our divorces… We know each other.”

Why is Jean Reno becoming more and more discreet?
Asked why Jean-Reno was becoming increasingly rare on the big screen, Luc Besson also gave some answers: “I think he has toured quite a bit and that he wants to spend a little time with his children and live a little. He has less desire for that (touring) he has still done lots of great things”.
As a reminder, the 75-year-old actor is the father of 6 children born from his different marriages: Sandra (1977), Michael (1980), Tom (1996), Serena (1998), Cielo (2009) and Dean (2011) . Furthermore, Jean Reno is the godfather of Jade Hallyday, the daughter of Johnny and Laeticia Hallyday.
