Longueuil Police | Fady Dagher’s replacement is chosen

Longueuil has chosen the successor of its police chief Fady Dagher, who left for Montreal.

The Longueuil agglomeration police service (SPAL) will be headed by Patrick Bélanger, a police officer who made his career with the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Mr. Bélanger had held the position of Deputy Director at SPAL since last November.

“Patrick Bélanger’s expertise and great understanding of the Longueuil reality are invaluable for the pursuit of the SPAL’s vision, which is dear to our administration,” said Mayor Catherine Fournier in a press release. “Mr. Bélanger is the perfect person to ensure the safety of the citizens of the Longueuil agglomeration. »

Mr. Bélanger was notably deputy director-general of the SQ, after having been director of the fight against organized crime and director of the intelligence service within the provincial police force.

The swearing-in of the new Chief Bélanger is scheduled for the month of April. His mandate is for a period of five years.
