(Longueuil) A fire broke out this Monday around noon in a daycare on rue de Lyon in Longueuil. The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department ordered its evacuation as a precaution. All 51 children and 8 employees on site escaped unharmed.
Police are assessing the possibility that the fire was caused by arson. The daycare is located in a commercial building with several unoccupied premises.
Rue de Lyon is closed between Rue Dumont and Rue Darveau in both directions.
Investigators will return to the scene later to investigate the cause of the fire. No arrests have been made at this time.
