Longueuil | A child scalded by a neighbor on his way home from school

A primary school child was scalded by a neighbor when he crossed her property on his way home from school last Wednesday. He suffered serious burns to his upper body, indicates the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL).

The events took place on October 2 at the end of the day, on the grounds of a residence with several housing units located near the intersection between Chemin Chambly and Boulevard Curé-Poirier Est, in Longueuil.

The woman in her 40s attacked the child as he was walking home from school with his friends. “We think until now that it is because of the fact that the young people passed through its territory,” underlines Jacqueline Pierre, public relations officer for SPAL. “But we will definitely know more with the investigation. »

The woman was arrested at the scene shortly after the events, then released on condition that she not contact the young person or his family. She has no criminal record. She could appear in court at the end of January; she faces charges of assault causing bodily harm, and possibly assault with a weapon.

The child was taken to hospital for treatment of burns to his upper body. He has since been released, and his life is not in danger.

To protect the identity of the victim, SPAL did not wish to provide further details on this event.
