(Tomaszów Mazowiecki) Canada wrapped up day two of the Long Track Speed Skating World Cup in Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland, on Saturday by winning the gold in the women’s team pursuit.
Ivanie Blondin, Isabelle Weidemann and Valérie Maltais combined their efforts to set a time of 3: 00.280. In the final standings, they edged Japan (3: 01.516) and the Netherlands (3: 02.699).
For Canada, this is their only podium on this second day of competition.
On Friday, the Canadian delegation collected three medals, two of which were silver.
Laurent Dubreuil first won a bronze medal in the 500 meters before Ted-Jan Bloemen and Widemann each earned a silver disc in the 5,000 and 3,000 meters, respectively.
The competition will end on Sunday.
