“LoL: Riot Games Introduces New LTA League Format for Americas!”

The League of Legends Championship of The Americas (LTA) will launch in 2025, merging North America’s LCS, Latin America’s LLA, and Brazil’s CBLOL into two conferences: North, based in Los Angeles, and South, in São Paulo. Each conference will feature eight teams and follow a competitive calendar divided into three splits, with playoff locations alternating annually between the U.S. and Brazil. The LTA aims to enhance regional competition and create opportunities for international participation.

A Continent Divided into 2 Conferences

The LTA, the League of Legends Championship of The Americas, represents the merger of the three leagues from the American continent. The LCS (North American league), the LLA (Latin American league), and the CBLOL (Brazilian league) will cease to exist in 2025, giving way to the brand new LTA!

This LTA is split into 2 conferences: the North conference and the South conference. Each will have its own arena (similar to the LEC studio). The North conference will take place in Los Angeles (located in the current LCS studio), while the South conference will be based in São Paulo.

The LTA North will consist of 8 teams:

  • Cloud 9.
  • Team Liquid Honda.
  • Flyquest.
  • Shopify Rebellion.
  • Dignitas.
  • 100 Thieves (temporary guest team).
  • Lyon Gaming (partner team from the LLA, formerly R7).
  • Disguised (temporary guest team from the NACL).

To clarify about this conference: there are 6 partner teams (C9, TL, FLY, Shopify Rebellion, DIG, and Lyon Gaming). The status of 100 Thieves is somewhat unique, as the organization sold its slot to Riot Games for economic reasons, and Riot is working on a solution for next year (more information will come in 2025). 100 Thieves will not have access to the promotion tournament at the end of 2025 to remain in the LTA. In contrast, Disguised is invited and will need to defend its spot during the promotion tournament, going up against competitors from NA CL and LRN.

The LTA South will also comprise 8 teams:

  • Fluxo.
  • Furia.
  • LOUD.
  • paiN Gaming.
  • RED Canids.
  • Vivo Keyd Stars.
  • Isurus (invited team from the LLA).

Similar to Disguised, Isurus will need to defend its position next year in a promotion tournament against the top teams from CBLOL Academy and LRS.

As for roster composition, teams in both the North and South conferences will be allowed two imports (from Korea or elsewhere), in addition to one player from the other conference (importantly, a team cannot have more players from the other conference). For example, a team like Cloud 9 can have 2 players from the North conference, one from the South conference, and 2 imports.

Like Other Leagues, a Schedule Divided into 3 Splits

In line with announcements made by LCK and LEC, the LTA will also follow the competitive schedule segmentation into 3 splits. The splits <
