Loirétain Yvan Sivilier, 20, is participating this week in the world championships roller skating in Colombia. This young high-level athlete is registered with the Loury club, north east of Orleans, even if he trains at the France pole in Bordeaux.

The competition started last Saturday in Ibagué, near Bogota, and lasts until Saturday, November 13. Yvan Sivilier has already participated in European or World Championships but it was in junior: it is therefore the first time that he has played in a senior world championship. It’s a little pride for him: “Pride, yes. And also recognition of the work done all year round. We work for that all year round. In winter, there is a lot of preparation work, with little competition. Sometimes, we can be slack and wonder why we do it. There, in this competition, it makes perfect sense. “
A medal next Friday?
For now, Yvan Sivilier has already obtained a good sixth place in the 200 meters event. “time trial duel”, finishing first French. And this Monday, he participated in the “3000 meter relay”, contributing to the qualification of the France team in the final. Next race for the young Loirétain: Friday on his specialty, the “circuit tour”, a road test.
