Arhoma: for the love of local fruits
The Hochelaga-Maisonneuve institution is offering three Yule logs this year, where the fruits of Quebec are in the spotlight. The bakery on Place Simon-Valois offers blackcurrant, hazelnut and dark chocolate bûche; apple, Avril amaretto and milk chocolate (gluten free); for the more daring, currant, lemon and fir sprout! Good to know: you can also order online for delivery, for those who live in Montreal, on the South Shore or in Laval.
Price: from $ 6.50 to $ 58, available in four sizes, from individual up to 10 people
Sachère: delicate delicacies
1/ 3
At Sachère Desserts, we offer three delicate Yule logs, like the pastry shop located near the Beaudry metro station. First there is the Genmaicha, a gluten-free option, with matcha tea, with William pear jelly and vanilla cake. We then offer the Fresca, with marmalade and grapefruit ganache, with olive oil cookie and black sesame cake. And finally, the Amatika, a vegan option, composed of a dark chocolate cake and a creamy banana. The logs can be pre-ordered online only, until December 12.
Price: between $ 30 and $ 65, available in three sizes, from the log (2 or 3 servings) up to 10 servings
Rhubarb: a touch of freshness
1/ 2
Among the tempting offer that we find for the Holidays at Rhubarbe, two Christmas logs are carved out for themselves. The avenue Laurier Est pastry shop, run by pastry chef Stéphanie Labelle, has concocted this year a citrus log, and a chocolate and hazelnut log. Hurry, because they will be available online (starting December 8) while supplies last.
Price: $ 38, format for 5 people
CRémy: in a friendly atmosphere
1/ 4
To mark his 10th birthday, pastry chef Rémy Couture decided to ask four employees (or former collaborators) to create a log for the Holidays. They had carte blanche, except for one condition: each of them had to feature an ingredient from Quebec. The result is surprising, and… chocolatey! There is Cédrik, who has succeeded in inventing a vegan log with milk chocolate (soy) and miso; Valérie, with her decadent chocolate, hazelnut and caramel creation; Nicolas, who concocted an iced coffee and pumpkin log, and Valentin, who slipped a little Jerusalem artichoke between the layers of chocolate and caramel!
Price: starting at $ 38, available in two sizes, 6 or 10 servings (except Valérie’s, one size, $ 50)
Ôfauria: timeless classics
1/ 2
Christian Faure, who can be found on his online pastry shop Ôfauria, offers several logs for the holiday season. The two novelties, praline and chestnut-rum, are in good company with the Ivoire, Sous-bois and Harmonie logs, already present last year. Pastries can be ordered on the virtual store, and are delivered to the Montreal and Laval regions. Moreover, the renowned pastry chef has announced that he will open a physical store in Laval, as of December 18, at 3417, boulevard le Carrefour.
Price: $ 48, available as of December 15 (for delivery or pickup)
