Unique pieces
Last spring, hatter Samantha-Tara Mainville opened her boutique-workshop in Parc-Extension. Chapeaux Heirloom also welcomes the jeweler Alexandre Bergeron, who makes and sells his unique creations there.
“Unique” is the key word to qualify both the new space and the work of these two artisans. The one who makes headgear of unparalleled originality has also taken on the challenge – and offered the pleasure – of making a perfectly unique and exclusive hat for each of her working days, until December. As she spends four days a week in her workshop, there will eventually be around 20 markers and other pieces, which will be on the Heirloom site well before the holidays.
At the boutique, you can also admire, try on and buy all the pieces from the fall collection entitled Cuddle Puddle, and more. Season requires, the cap is in the spotlight, as well as rounded and hairy bobs, “grandmother” scarves and the famous knotted headband of the hat maker, in several materials and colors.
In a sober glass display, the bright and colorful rings by Alexandre Bergeron are the stuff of dreams for those who like their fingers to make people talk. No two pieces are alike and the jeweler has difficulty in supplying them, so much is required. But by Christmas, the large jewelry box should fill with new gems. To stay on the lookout for what’s available, simply visit the designer’s website or the store regularly.
We strongly suggest that you go there, if only to admire a light like you’ve never seen! This is the crazy work of multidisciplinary ceramic artist Mathilde Jobin. The playfulness of the place is matched by the clothes of Kate Turner and those of Hannah Isolde, the two guest designers for the month of October. Eliza Faulkner will be the next to hang her new collection there. There will also be a meeting night with the Montreal designer on Thursday, November 4. For the occasion, the boutique will be open until 9 p.m.
In short, whether you are looking for a little extravagance for yourself or to give a gift, a visit to the pretty address of a Mile-Ex in full transformation is ideal.

Warm, stylish and sturdy boots
Anfibio Boots
1/ 3
For winter 2021-2022, the Quebec brand Anfibio is revisiting several of its classics with colors and small details that make them even more stylish. It also offers brand new models, whether they are more urban like Ines and Ellie, or more mountain like Mia and Rokko. Platform soles, moon boots lined in real sheepskin, square toe and exposed fur are just a few of the touches that confirm that the more than 50-year-old brand is as fashionable as ever. In Montreal, you can see and try all the products at the brand’s workshop-boutique, in the Villeray district. Anfibio is distributed almost everywhere in the province, even in the most remote corners. Some models also have crampons, to hang on to the Quebec winter!
