Moneteau church

Saint-Cyr church of Monéteau dates from 13th century and is located on the left bank of the town of Monéteau.

The bridge does not yet exist, for centuries the inhabitants of the town had to cross the ford to get to the church. At the time we spoke of large and small Monéteau, which has now become the right bank and the left bank.

The Eiffel Bridge

Until 1853 the village was divided into two distinct parts separated by the river. Monéteau itself on the left bank and the Petit Moneteau. Two fords located at each end of the curve of the Yonne allowed communication between the two localities.
