The heat wave arrives in the region, and the city of Lille implements its freshness plan, a series of measurements so that Lille residents can bring the temperature down a bit.
Foggers and “fresh paths”
The six foggers that counts the city will be put into service with a little advance. They will be active all week from this Wednesday, June 15, then every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon, until the end of the summer holidays and when the temperature exceeds 25 degrees. They are located in the center, in Fives, Moulins, Wazemmes and Faubourg de Béthune.
The city also offers a cartography green spaces, drinking water points, misters and cool buildings, to create a “fresh course” urban.
Finally, in the event of an orange heatwave alert, reduced rates will be offered in the swimming pools, and in the event of a yellow alert, the parks will remain open all night. Seniors are also encouraged to register on the city’s lists to be contacted by municipal agents in case of high temperatures.
