Lille easily dominates Ajaccio and revives in the league

The slap received against PSG is already forgotten. Losc revived by dominating Ajaccio, opening the 4th day of Ligue 1, Friday August 26, at the François-Coty stadium (3-1). Superiors throughout the meeting, the Lille residents did not tremble in the face of voluntary but too limited Corsicans.

We had left the Dogues collapsed on their lawn after the demonstration suffered against PSG, they raised their heads for and showed bite on the lawn of Ajaccio. Technically superior, they immediately returned to their match. From the 9th minute, Jonathan David, alone at six meters, shook the net, but he was offside.

It was finally Yusuf Yazici who opened the scoring with a sublime sequence of the sombrero-volley (17th). With 67% possession in the first period, Paulo Fonseca’s men kept their foot on the ball and contained the few Ajaccio offensives. Before doubling the bet just before the break thanks to Jonathan Bamba (43rd).

In a slightly duller second period, Losc mastered the debates to maintain their advantage, and Tiago Djalo came to add his touch to the beautiful northern score thanks to his first goal this season. The score could have been even wider if David had converted the penalty obtained at the end of the game, but the Canadian striker found the post. Whatever, with three goals scored, Lille has regained momentum and confidence.

Driven by the encouragement of the stadium, the Ajacciens saved the honor at the end of the game with the reduction of the gap from Cyrille Bayala (83rd). Before that, they had believed to benefit from a penalty at half an hour of play, before the video arbitration decided otherwise. Fernand Mayembo then found the crossbar from a corner, on one of the best Corsican chances in the second period. But they suffered too much, against Lille who were physically and technically stronger.

Losc clinched their second victory of the season, after their inaugural success against Auxerre, and temporarily climbed to 4th place. Ajaccio remains entangled in the bottom of the rankings. The Corsicans are 18th tonight, but could be overtaken by Reims and Troyes if they win.
