The Professional Football League (LFP) launches its new call for tenders for television rights to Ligue 1 on Tuesday, which will close on October 16.

Live TV broadcast rights for Ligue 1 for the period 2024-2029 have been priced at 800 million euros per season for the French market, the Professional Football League (LFP) announced on Tuesday September 12 during a press conference.
The LFP offers two lots of live matches: a number one lot with the first two choices of each day as well as the fourth choice, priced at 530 million euros per season; and a lot two with the third choice and choice matches five to nine, priced at 270 million euros. Candidates have until October 16 to position themselves, before “ascending auctions”.
For the first time, the duration of this new contract will be five seasons, one year more than the previous ones, to cover the period from the 2024-2025 season to the 2028-2029 season. Vincent Labrune, the president of the LFP, announced to L’Equipe on June 6, 2023, that he had the objective, in France and internationally, of reaching “around a billion euros, even if the macroeconomic and financial context is delicate.” Asked on Tuesday about the high amount and the tight timing of the price, he assured: “We are naturally optimistic, (…) we are used to this kind of challenge.” Currently and until 2024, Amazon Prime with seven matches and Canal + with two matches sharing the broadcasting rights for French football.
