With four quotes, comedian Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais dominates the nominations for the 23and Gala Les Olivier, unveiled on Tuesday. Silvi Tourigny, Arnaud Soly, Simon Delisle and Rosalie Vaillancourt are also in the running for more than one prize. The comedy celebration evening, presented on March 20, will once again be hosted by François Bellefeuille.

Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais presented his first solo show in the fall, which audiences and critics alike delighted in. Here he is now at the top of the nominations for the Gala Les Olivier. His name appears in the categories Humor issue, Capsule or web sketch, Discovery and Olivier of the year.
For this last category, the other finalists are Rita Baga, Sam Breton, Mathieu Dufour, Katherine Levac, Mariana Mazza, Christine Morency, François Morency, Arnaud Soly and Rosalie Vaillancourt.
If she is not yet among the discoveries or among the candidates for the Olivier of the year, Silvi Tourigny stands out with three nominations (Number of humor, Capsule or sketch and Text of the year: capsule or sketch). Rosalie Vaillancourt, Arnaud Soly, Simon Delisle, Julien Corriveau, François Morency and Alexandre Bisaillon are each cited twice individually. Matthew Pepper (Between two sheets), Francois Morency (Discussions with my parents), Martin Matte (The beautiful discomforts) or members of Appendices are also listed for their emissions.

For the comedy number of the year, Alexandre Bisaillon, Maude Landry, Jean-Michel Martel, Silvi Tourigny and Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais are in the running. Joe Cormier, Alexandre Forest, Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais, Silvi Tourigny and Guy Nantel compete in the Capsule or web sketch category.
Pascal Cameron, Simon Delisle, Matthieu Pepper, Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais and Richardson Zéphir have the chance to be crowned Discovery of the Year.
Sixteen statuettes in total will be presented during the evening presented on March 20 at 8 p.m. on ICI Télé. A “Thank you for everything” category has been added to highlight the social involvement and dedication to humanitarian causes or organizations of a member of the comedy community. The public’s vote will determine this year’s winner of the Capsule or humorous web sketch category.
