Les Galipes champenoises: eco-responsible and solidarity hikes

The Galipes champenoises will take place on Sunday May 8, 2022 in Rilly-la-Montagne (Marne). A new mountain bike, gravel and cycle ride open to all, starting from Rilly-la-Montagne. The routes will take the roads and paths of the villages of the vineyards and the forest of the Montagne de Reims. AS Rilly cyclists have chosen to favor discovery, a warm welcome, the eco-responsibility of the event and solidarity.

eco-responsible, solidarity hike, supplies with local products…

Free-paced hikes, open to all Rilly-la-Montagne, a pretty village of winegrowers located a few kilometers from Reims, between vineyards and forests, recently labeled “Towns and villages where life is good”, is an ideal starting point for discovering the landscapes of the Montagne de Reims.

The mountain bikers and cyclists of AS Rilly have thus prepared a great half-day of cycling for the road, gravel and mountain bikers, licensed or not, seasoned or occasional cyclists. The reception will be at the cultural space, 20 rue Carnot. Parking is provided at the station square. Departures from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., return until 1:00 p.m.

Mountain bikers can choose between 27 and 45 km routes, fun and attractive, mainly traced in the forest of Chêne à la Vierge. The gravel which is a novelty in cycling practice, halfway between road practice and mountain biking, will take participants to the Val de Livre, on the heights of Mutigny, Hautvillers, Cormoyeux with a return by forest roads, either a total of 63 km.

As for the road routes, AS Rilly offers an original formula which will consist of leaving home, or elsewhere, to join us in Rilly-la-Montagne.

We offer the curious a signposted route that will leave from Villers-Marmery to Ville-Dommange via Rilly.

This route will offer you new viewpoints over the villages of the vineyards, passing through small roads and concrete vineyard paths. Participants are free to integrate it or not, in part or in its entirety, in their course.

Solidarity with blind tandemists and photo exhibition

The Comité Valentin Haüy offers tandem hikes for the blind and visually impaired from Reims. AS Rilly has chosen to support this activity by donating 25% of the profits made to maintain the equipment. Finally, the Rilly photo club will present its compositions at the Espace culturel.
