“Les buveurs de ciel”, the new novel by mountain writer Patrick Breuzé

Breton by origin, but more than any mountain lover, Patrick Breuze has established himself as one of the greatest mountain writers in France. Winner of the Grand Prix du Pays du Mont-Blanc and the Solidarity Prize, his greatest trophy was to be accepted among the alumni of his Alpine territory.

If we already know that something serious has happened, from the start of this novel “The Sky Drinkers”, we are going to have to seek, to know more, to discover the secret of this history, and of these places. Because the sky drinkers, it is these elders who remake the world in a cafe, until their favorite coffee is bought by a dishonest and boastful man, they will then take refuge with one of them, the painter Henri Payen d’Orville, and will create there a sort of underground café, as there really is at Patrick Breuzé, in Haute-Savoie. Lili, in the middle of all this, the waitress, unhappy, goes to meet the painter, and live a divine idyll, in a context of rivalry, but also of solidarity.
