If the CAQ has stabilized the decline in its support despite several broken promises, the Parti Québécois is consolidating its status as an alternative with voters. Meanwhile, the Liberals sink into indifference.
With 37% of the voting intentions, the troops of François Legault save the furniture, despite a difficult start to the mandate, reveals a Léger poll carried out on behalf of the Log.
For now, the abandonment of 3e motorway link, the decline in 4-year-old kindergartens, immigration thresholds and the green light for imposing salary increases for deputies have not dampened the advance of the caquistes. François Legault’s party regained one point, after losing four from February to May, which placed it at 36%, its lowest level of support for its accession to power.
But Paul St-Pierre Plamondon strengthens his position as number two, a warning for the CAQ. Especially with the enthusiasm of people in the region of Quebec for the PQ, which does not seem to run out of steam.
“It’s a warning that there is an alternative emerging, that their stars are less popular than they were, analyzes the pollster, Jean-Marc Léger. You cannot take for granted the support of the electorate, especially when you have 37% of the voting intentions, that you therefore have 63% of Quebecers who do not vote for you”.

The Battle of Quebec
The PQ appear “quietly as the national solution”, the other political parties only succeeding in breaking through in certain regions. “Quebec solidaire is Montreal or in certain urban areas, the PLQ is west of Montreal and the Conservative Party is in the Quebec region,” said the president of the Léger firm.
And the National Capital is the scene of a real political fight, fought by four parties. Only the liberals are practically excluded from this confrontation. The PSPP team is in the lead, followed by the Caquists, followed by those in solidarity with Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois. Éric Duhaime’s curators are now at 4e rank in the metropolitan region of Quebec.
The Confused Reds
Without a leader, the reds continue to tumble in voting intentions, collecting only a slim 13% of support (4% among Francophones). “The PLQ falls quietly into total indifference,” says Jean-Marc Léger.
Even Liberal voters are confused. No less than 55% of them cannot answer when it comes to judging which personality would make the best party leader. It’s 68% in the whole population.
MP Marwah Rizqy is generating the most interest among citizens, but not among Liberal supporters. It is the interim leader Marc Tanguay who dominates the PLQ.
“Liberal voters are orphans right now. With the popularity rate they have at 13% and with these results, it is in their interest to launch their leadership race quickly, before they completely lose interest in the population, ”says the pollster.

QS seduces only young people
Stable in voting intentions, QS garners the majority of its support from young people aged 18 to 34, citizens who vote little. Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois also obtains a starving score among people aged 55 and over.
“Their strength is the young people, their weakness is only the young people! They do not manage to get out of the big cities, nor of the clientele beyond 35 years, ”insists Mr. Léger.
