After two weeks of evacuation, the residents of Lebel-sur-Quévillon will finally be able to return home gradually starting Friday.
This was announced by Mayor Guy Lafrenière Thursday evening. The work of securing the Nordic Kraft factory has been validated by civil security, he explained.
“A plan for the reintegration of services and citizens will be deployed starting tomorrow,” said Mr. Lafrenière on the municipality’s Facebook page.
The return will be gradual. Details will be announced to some 2,000 citizens at a press conference Friday at 11 a.m.
In addition, the huge fire No. 344, which has been causing a lot of problems for the municipality for two weeks, is now being handled by forest firefighters from the United States.
Others from Portugal will be added to the workforce on site on Friday.
