The proof, the latter said that her mother preferred to watch her weekly program broadcast every Saturday on France 2 “What a time! rather than his other political shows. A preference that she justified by telling an anecdote to say the least. And for good reason, Léa Salamé told our colleagues to Gala that his mother had not frankly appreciated one of his famous interviews with the former President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy. The reason ? The latter had not at all liked the offensive and fairly direct attitude that her daughter had adopted to address the former head of state.

“His criticism touches me”
“At the start of L’Émission politique, for example, I was very abrupt with Nicolas Sarkozy. She had sent me an email saying: ‘My daughter, you are going too far, this aggressiveness is uncomfortable’”. A memorable interview for which Léa Salamé therefore had her suspenders pulled up by her mother. Remarks that annoyed him at first… Then, with hindsight, the host ended up understanding his mother’s reluctance.
“His criticism touches me, so first of all, I get angry. But deep down, I know she’s right.” she concluded.
