It’s unprecedented. The Sunday newspaper (JDD) is entering its third week on strike. Always opposed to the appointment at its head of the journalist marked on the far right Geoffroy Lejeune, the editorial staff voted, Thursday, July 6, the renewal of the movement for 24 hours. The continuation of the strike threatens the release of the weekly on Sunday, for the third consecutive time, which has never happened. The newspaper’s site is fixed at June 22, the date of the start of the movement.

“Teams will meet Friday morning to vote on whether to continue the movement”announced its Society of Journalists (SDJ) in its daily press release. According to her, the renewal of the strike was voted by 96% (89 for, 4 against, 5 do not decide).

The team refused to meet Geoffroy Lejeune

“The teams of JDD reiterate their two demands. The Lagardère group must renounce this appointment and must provide the editorial staff with legal and editorial guarantees”, explained the LDS. It is “two demands to which the management has remained deaf so far, preferring to impose the arrival of Geoffroy Lejeune”she lamented.

Former editor of the weekly Current valuessupport for the far-right candidate Eric Zemmour for the 2022 presidential election, Geoffroy Lejeune should have met the editorial staff of the JDD Wednesday, but the latter refused.
