(Laval) A collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle in the Sainte-Rose district of Laval claimed the life of a 30-year-old man on Friday.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue de la Renaissance and Boulevard Sainte-Rose.
The vehicle was traveling westbound on Avenue de la Renaissance, while the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Sainte-Rose Boulevard, reports the Laval Police Service (SPL).
“At the intersection there is a traffic light. The vehicle wanted to turn to enter and take Highway 15 North. That’s when the motorcycle hit the vehicle,” said an SPL spokesperson, agent Stéphanie Beshara.
The motorcyclist was then thrown from his vehicle. The seriously injured man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Officer Beshara.
A security perimeter was erected and police continued their investigation Friday evening to better understand the circumstances surrounding the collision.
