A woman who tried to help a driver who had lost control of her car was seriously injured Saturday evening after being hit by another vehicle in Mont-Blanc, in the Laurentians.
The collision occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Route 117 in Mont-Blanc, a municipality located east of Mont-Tremblant.
“There was a vehicle that lost control and a passerby, the pedestrian, went to help the driver involved,” explained Sergeant Béatrice Dorsainville, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
“In doing so, she was hit by another vehicle traveling on Route 117,” she added.
The woman was transported to a hospital center. After fearing for her life, medical authorities say she is now out of danger, the SQ said Sunday morning.
The other people involved in this event, including the driver who initially lost control of her vehicle, were not injured, but had to be treated for nervous shock.
Route 117 was blocked from the entrance to the exit leading to Mont-Blanc during the investigation.
A patrol officer specializing in collision investigations from the SQ went to the site to analyze the scene.
