Trailing 2-0 after seven innings, the Capitals were able to load up the bases with three of the first four batters in their eighth turn at bat.

Marc-Antoine Lebreux then cut the gap in half, despite himself, after being hit by a shot from gunner Frankie Giuliano, who had just entered the match. Then David Glaude tied the game with a single.

After registering a first out – the second of the set – Giuliano finally gave way to Tucker Smith, who immediately awarded the game-winning run by offering a free pass to TJ White, while the bases were still all occupied.

On the Capitals side, starting pitcher Michael Austin was the one to give up the two runs, on four hits, including Juan Santana’s two-run homer, in six innings of work, but he was not involved in the decision. Rather, it was reliever Franklin Parra (3-1) who saw the victory add to his record, while Nick Horvath signed his sixth save of the season.

The two Quebec teams will continue this three-game series, the penultimate of the season between the clubs, on Wednesday, before concluding it the next day.
