An experienced police officer from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) was violently attacked by a suspect Wednesday afternoon in Lasalle, while he was in front of the home of a victim.
Posted at 9:20 a.m.
The detective sergeant went alone to an accommodation in southwest Montreal to deliver a subpoena to a victim.
Rather, he would have found himself in front of the suspect, who would have told him that the woman was not there.
The alleged attacker is said to be a member of the victim’s family, our sources confirm. He allegedly hit the police officer on the head as he was walking towards his vehicle.
Injured in one eye and suffering from a concussion, the detective sergeant in question was found on the ground. He was unconscious during his transport to the hospital.
SPVM media relations did not immediately respond to Press.
