The body of Thérèse Séguin, who went missing on Sunday, was recovered Monday afternoon from La Grande Décharge in Alma, confirms the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Police were first called Monday morning around 11 a.m. after being informed that “something was floating” near a dam in La Grande Décharge, downstream from Lac Saint-Jean, according to an SQ spokesperson.
This “something” was actually M’s body.me Séguin, who was rescued around 1:15 p.m. by nautical patrol boats. The police were able to quickly confirm that it was indeed the septuagenarian, after the process of identifying the remains.
Thérèse Séguin had been missing since Sunday. She was last seen in the Isle-Maligne area, just on the edge of La Grande Décharge.
