Kruger to double production in Sherbrooke

(Sherbrooke) Kruger Products announces that the size and production of its future tissue paper machine in the Brompton borough, in Sherbrooke, will be doubled.



This means that the 240 million expansion project unveiled last February for the installation of this machine as well as the addition of two processing lines is enhanced by an additional investment by Kruger and a banking consortium of 111.5 million. , for a total of 351.5 million.

The double-width machine with dry creping technology will therefore have an annual production capacity of at least 60,000 metric tonnes of premium tissue paper products intended for the Canadian and US markets.

Machine start-up is scheduled for 2024.

The Kruger Products expansion project will create 141 jobs over the next three years.

The Minister of Economy and Innovation and Minister responsible for Regional Economic Development, Pierre Fitzgibbon, points out that the Quebec pulp and paper industry must renew and modernize. In his view, the acquisition of this new machine by Kruger Products is a fine example of technological innovation and the kind of initiative that will drive performance and growth.
