Prime Minister Justin Trudeau must self-isolate at home after learning he was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
The prime minister said on Twitter on Thursday morning that he was made aware of the exposure on Wednesday evening.
He said the result of a rapid antigen test he performed was negative. He is following Ottawa public health rules and self-isolating for five days.
Last night I learned that I had been exposed to COVID-19. My rapid test result was negative. I follow the rules @OttawaHealth and self-isolate for 5 days. I feel good and I will work from home. Be well and please get vaccinated.

Mr. Trudeau has indicated that he will be working from home during this period.
Several of Trudeau’s cabinet ministers have had to self-isolate in recent weeks after receiving a positive test result or because they were potentially exposed to the virus.
Trudeau is due to call foreign leaders on Thursday and address the Liberal caucus in a virtual retreat.
