Sunday November 19, 2023, 500 personalities from the entertainment world called for “a march of union” with the aim of putting an end to hostilities in the Middle East. Their message? “May these two peoples live in peace.” “We would like to reweave the torn fabrics mesh by mesh […] because no one listens to each other speak anymore in this period”,said Julie Gayet on LCI.
“Because we can have links more or less distant from belonging to one camp or another, there under the influence of emotion and with little distance because we do not suddenly take enough distance we begin to have radicalities, more personal positions”, she added before continuing: “Bring back nuance, listening, saying that: yes we can be multiple, we are not obliged to choose our camp, our clan. And at the same time staying at home in silence is not a valid position either.”
From Pierre Arditi to François Berléand via Tomer Sisley, Isabelle Adjani and Marion Cotillard, many personalities gathered together “in this silent walk” without “political claim” neither “slogan”.
Yesterday we made a regrettable error in a tweet repeating Julie Gayet’s comments about the peace march by wrongly mentioning peace with “Hamas”, instead of writing “the Palestinians”. We apologize to the organizers and @IamJulieGayet

“A regrettable mistake”
Unfortunately, Julie Gayet’s fight for peace was the victim of a misunderstanding. Regretting an awkwardness, our colleagues from RTL apologized to the actress for a misunderstanding regarding her commitment to peace: “Yesterday we made a regrettable error in a tweet repeating comments made by Julie Gayet about the peace march by wrongly mentioning peace with ‘Hamas’, instead of writing ‘the Palestinians’. We present our apologies to the organizers and to Julie Gayet”. A Mea Culpa which provoked strong reactions.
