After the riders in the spotlight of the first time trial between Foligno and Perugia, it’s time for the climbers. A distinction which does not apply to Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), winner on Thursday and who increased his lead to 2’36 over his closest pursuer, who is now called Daniel Felipe Martinez (Bora-Hansgrohe). Can the Slovenian sign a third victory in this Tour of Italy from the 8th stage, Saturday May 11? With him, nothing is impossible.

Only 152 kilometers separate Spoleto from Prati di Tivo, but the difficulty is maximum according to the organizers, who give five stars out of five to this stage with no flat section. The setting for this first explanation at the summit: a final ascent of 14.5 kilometers at an average of 7% – with peaks at 12% – which includes twenty-two hairpins. For (almost all) runners, plenty to tear your hair out of.
