A pivotal year for ASM Clermont. Among the priority projects of the Auvergne club in terms of recruitment, find high-level forerunners to compensate for the departures of Camille Lopez and the Irishman John Joseph Hanrahan, who will not ultimately be retained.
After the signing of Toulonnais Anthony Belleau, it is therefore another French international who will land in Auvergne. According to our colleagues from Canal +, Jules Plisson, 30 years old, 18 selections, has given his agreement and will find Jono Gibbes, his former manager of the Stade Rochelais. For the time being, the ASM has not formalized this arrival.
Plisson’s last selection for the Blues dates back to June 2018 against New Zealand.
Lopez in Bayonne?
After leaving the “family cocoon” of the Stade Français, Jules Plisson wanted to give new impetus to his career by committing to Charente-Maritime. But for now, the results are quite mixed. The former Parisian does not appear to be an essential part of the workforce now led by Irishman Ronan O’Gara. La Rochelle has already found its successor in the person of Palois Antoine Hastoy.
The arrival of Plisson allows Clermont to release Camille Lopez from his last year of contract. The Béarnais could commit to Aviron Bayonnais and be associated with Maxime Machenaud.
