Under sparse skies and ideal track conditions, the show was on and the hierarchy was shaken up during the sprint race of the German Grand Prix. Starting from pole position after setting the fastest time in qualifying, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) failed to retain his first place on Saturday June 17, capped by the surprising Jorge Martin (Ducati). Sixth on the starting grid, the Spanish rider took advantage of the battle between the world championship leader and the Australian Jack Miller (KTM), third at the finish, to slip into the front and race in head to the end.

Second in the Italian Grand Prix last weekend, just behind Francesco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin offered his second victory in a sprint race this season, after winning that of the Grand Prix de France, May 12, 2023. Johann Zarco (Ducati) meanwhile climbed to 5th place, while Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), last in Q2, finished in 13th place.
