(Singapore) The winner of the Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard, paraded in his yellow jersey by winning the first edition of the Criterium of Singapore on Sunday, intended to promote the Tour de France in Asia.

The Tour de France, organizer of this exhibition race, has brought together big names in cycling like Mark Cavendish, who holds the most stage victories in the Grande Boucle tied with Eddy Merckx, Christopher Froome, quadruple winner du Tour, or Vincenzo Nibali, another former winner who is due to retire at the end of the year, with the aim of interesting a new public in cycling.
Vingegaard escaped in the last kilometer of the circuit which crossed the streets of the city and part of the F1 circuit to win ahead of Christopher Froome and Vincenzo Nibali, in the tropical heat.
“It’s not like I’m not used to it, because during the Tour de France this year it was also very hot,” said the 25-year-old Dane on arrival.
