A very solemn address from the Oval Office: Joe Biden spoke for the first time since his presidential retirement. “The defense of democracy which is at stake seems to me more important than any title”he defended. Without mentioning his age or his health, which has been a cause for concern for weeks, Joe Biden assures that it is time to make way for young people: “The best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. It’s the best way to unite our nation.”he said.
At 59, Kamala Harris embodies this political renewal. Joe Biden therefore invites the Democrats to get behind her. “She is experienced, strong and up to the task. She is an incredible partner to me and a great leader for our country. Now it is your choice.”, has indicated the American president. Kamala Harris is almost certain to be the Democratic candidate. She has already launched her campaign 3 and a half months before the election.
