Comedian Jim Carrey, followed by nearly 19 million people on the platform, announced his departure from Twitter. “I love you all so much,” he wrote in his very last tweet on Tuesday.
The Canadian-American thus follows several other public figures who have decided to disavow Twitter since its acquisition by billionaire Elon Musk. Among them: Whoopi Goldberg, Gigi Hadid, Pedro Pascal, Toni Braxton and Shonda Rhimes.
Jim Carrey accompanied his goodbye tweet with a cartoon he created in collaboration with his friend, director and animator Jimmy Hayward, based on one of his paintings.
The actor has not publicly specified the reasons for his departure from the platform.
