After six weeks of waiting, Aaron Rodgers finally leaves the Green Bay Packers, where he had several good years, and joins the New York Jets.
The Jets have acquired the NFL’s four-time MVP from the Packers, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The source agreed to speak with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Monday, as the exchange has not yet been formalized.
The 39-year-old Rodgers announced on March 10 that he wanted to play next season, but with the Jets. So football fans waited and waited for the two teams to make a trade involving the quarterback.
“I had been clear that my goal was to play and do it with the Jets,” Rodgers said while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, YouTube and Sirius XM on March 15.
