A few minutes before the launch of the 28e Miss France ceremony, the big annual event of TF1, the famous host responded to an interview with the “Parisian” this Saturday, December 17. And Jean-Pierre Foucault did not lack, as usual, humor but also lucidity as to his future in the television group. The 75-year-old has gradually withdrawn from many successful programs, such as “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” to appear only rarely, during the lottery draw for example. And for the sacrosanct Miss ceremony! A program that is close to his heart and that he has embodied wonderfully for many years. He underlines in this regard: “I am like Mickey, I remain eternally young. For 28 years that I have presented this show, the Misses are always 20 years old around me. It’s absolutely magical,” he says, eager to keep this show while freeing up time to enjoy his family and friends, and take care of his “dozen classic cars”. A well-deserved “semi-retirement”!
“What is this story ? Of course I’m not taking your place!”
Recently, rumors swirled about the presenter’s departure from TF1 and his possible replacement for the Misses’ evening by Camille Combal or… Nikos Aliagas. Philosopher, Jean-Pierre Foucault explains to our colleagues: “Every year, the first question is: ‘Will you be there again this year? And next year?” Even today, a weekly announced that Nikos Aliagas was going to take my place. I was on the road, Nikos called me saying ‘What is this story? Of course I’m not taking your place'”, he says. And to give news of his friend and colleague: “Besides, I asked him about him, he still has pain in his leg, he still has rehabilitation.” We remember it.During one of the last bonuses of the “Star Academy”, the host had indeed “broken his face” to use his own words, and had to cancel his participation in the “NRJ Music Awards ” in Cannes to be replaced by Camille Combal. A fall which turns out to be more serious than the presenter had let on. Let’s hope that the year 2023 will find him in great shape!
