Every Friday evening on TF1, millions of viewers enthusiastically follow Dance with the Stars. The celebrities who are still in the race will have to stand out and shine in front of the jury. This year, Jean-Paul Gaultier joined the show as a juror. Unfortunately, his presence is not unanimous among fans of the show. For them, the famous stylist would be “too nice” to the candidates.
On Twitter, he often attracts the wrath of Internet users because of his criticism. During an interview granted to “Progress” on October 1, the couturier made a point of defending himself. “Everyone says I’m too nice… But I’m not here to say bad things! I find it horrible to castrate people. There is a way and a way of saying things… They must not be demoralized ”, confided Jean-Paul Gaultier to our colleagues.
The stylist also stressed that he did not know “enough” all the dance techniques to allow himself to be severe. “I can be influenced by the painting without even looking at the artist. I spontaneously say what I think as an ordinary spectator ”, analyzed Jean-Paul Gaultier and also to specify: “I prefer to keep those who are more temperamental and who are different.”
For his part, Chris Marques also spoke on the subject in the columns of “Télé 7 jours”. The dancer does not understand this controversy that taints his colleague. “People have a reductive view of Jean-Paul. We know the couturier, but we forget that his primary motivation was the show, the parades… ” regretted the companion of Jaclyn Spencer. “He has always been very attentive to the movement of his models on the catwalks, for example. He has a real director’s gaze ”. Things are said!
