Monday, November 22, 2021, James and Kimberly Van Der Beek took to their Instagram pages to formalize the birth of their sixth child. The couple welcomed an adorable baby boy named Jeremiah. Filled with happiness, James Van Der Beek has published many photos, accompanied by a long message. “Moved and overjoyed to announce the safe arrival of Jeremiah Van Der Beek“, he begins his words. (We call him Remi but not the ‘dinosaur’)“, then jokes the American actor.
James Van Der Beek then returns to the very painful ordeal he experienced with his wife, that of losing a baby when the pregnancy was already well advanced. And this on two occasions: “After having experienced two miscarriages (every two to 17 weeks of pregnancy), we decided to keep this one discreet. Honestly, I was terrified when I found out.Kimberly Van Der Beek also had other miscarriages long before, but pregnancies had never been so advanced.
After the loss of his two previous babies, James Van Der Beek appealed to doctors to find out more about the reason for these failures: “We have a doctor here in Texas that the previous two (miscarriages) were caused by an ‘incompetent cervix.’“This is also called cervical insufficiency and means the premature opening of the cervix.
For Kimberly Van Der Beek to bring this new pregnancy to term, she benefited from the strapping of her cervix and this is howshe was able to give birth to her 6th child on the family ranch.
